My Story
I’ve been a business owner for over 20 years, and have more than 30 years of experience in design, advertising and marketing. Though I’ve enjoyed the career, creativity and problem-solving the work provided, my desire for more has pushed me beyond what 9-to-5 can offer. As a traveler, I explore worlds that expand my view and my experiences. As an artist, I create works that express my perspective of what’s around me. As a baker, I share my vision through food. And what’s better than creativity you can eat.
My Next Chapter
My interests in travel, art and baking, along with my business expertise, have given me a new direction. I hope now to put my talents to use in the travel, food, hospitality or lifestyle industries. This provides me with an opportunity to combine all I’ve done and all my interests to create unique and memorable experiences for clients and customers. I see this as a natural progression in my career – taking my know-how and passions and making them work even harder for me.
FROM “INTO THE WOODS”:
“WISHES COME TRUE, NOT FREE.”

What I’ve Done
As my favorite quote above states so simply, wishes come at a price, usually hard work, long hours and failure from time to time. But the reward when wishes do come true makes it so worth the time and energy. During my many years in advertising, I’ve put in the time and energy to make wishes come true. And I’m ready to do it again in my next adventure.
What I’ve Learned So Far
In an effort to learn as much as I can about being a tour director, I’ve been trained in the U.S. through TripSchool’s one-week certification training in New York City and their two-week long online Fundamentals of Tour Directing course. I appreciated their sharp focus on storytelling, integrating technology on tour and creating wow moments for guests. I’ve completed their Charleston and Savannah intensive destination training (December 2019) and the East Coast Mega Training in New York City, Washington D.C. and Boston (January 2020). I plan to continue to learn destinations over the year to complement my destination knowledge.

What Moves Me
New cultures, places, foods, feelings. From the anticipation of planning a trip to the adventures once I’m there, travel opens my eyes, my heart and my soul to so many possibilities. (Bonus - I always get to return home to my rescue corgi, Max.) Creating a meal or treat and sharing it with friends and family offers therapy, creativity and fulfillment unlike anything else for me. And whether I’m interpreting a subject on canvas, or enjoying an artist’s interpretation through a painting, a play, music or a movie, the creation of and reaction to art is a rush. Throughout many of these activities, you’ll probably find me in one of my hundreds of bow ties. Some call it an obsession, I choose to call it sartorial passion.
